Fire Rescue Operations

Response

The Winter Garden Fire Rescue Department is a professional career department consisting of 72 total personnel covering a city of approximately 18 square miles. Winter Garden's Fire Rescue Department operates out of four fire stations, outfitted with state of the art vehicles and equipment strategically located throughout the City to provide an exceptional level of service. All of Winter Garden's Firefighters are certified to meet the professional Firefighter qualifications for the State of Florida and are medically trained and licensed as either Emergency Medical Technicians or Paramedics. In 2025, Winter Garden firefighters responded to 6,331 emergency calls for service.

The Department collaborates with the Orange County Fire Rescue Department and the City of Ocoee Fire Department through an automatic joint response system. This ensures that the nearest available engine responds to emergencies, regardless of jurisdictional boundaries.

Winter Garden Fire Rescue also utilizes a fire-based Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system, in which medical patients are treated and transported to the hospital by the Fire Department. This system improves the level of service and ensures continuity of care from patient contact to transfer of care to hospital staff.

ISO Rating

The Winter Garden Fire Rescue Department holds a Class 2 Insurance Services Office (ISO) Public Protection Classification Rating. This rating applies to businesses and residents located in the city who are within 5 miles of a fire station and within 1,000 feet of a fire hydrant.
