Office of the Fire Marshal

The Office of the Fire Marshal is dedicated to ensuring community safety through proactive measures and preventative services. The overall focus is on preventing losses and promoting life safety through adherence to industry standards and local ordinances.

Key Services

Fire Prevention and Enforcement

The Fire Marshal oversees the enforcement of the Standard Fire Prevention Code, NFPA Life Safety Code, and National Fire Codes. They ensure compliance with state and local fire protection ordinances, minimizing risks to life and property.

Fire Inspection Services

Certified and highly qualified Fire Safety Inspectors licensed by the State of Florida conduct fire safety inspections on all existing commercial buildings. The primary purpose of these inspections is to reduce and eliminate fire hazards that could increase the probability and severity of fires within the community.

Fire Inspections are also conducted on all commercial buildings that are under construction. These inspections are performed to ensure compliance with all fire and building codes mandated by state and local ordinances before occupancy.

Commercial Construction Plans Review

All new commercial construction undergoes thorough review by certified Plans Reviewers. This process ensures that construction meets all applicable codes and regulations. The Reviewers act as fire code consultants, facilitating the permitting process and promoting compliance from the outset.
