Criminal Investigations

Investigative Philosophy

The Winter Garden Police Department has adopted a "crime / investigator-based" investigation philosophy. By assigning responsibility by crime designation, an investigator develops an expertise in his / her field, thereby becoming more effective and efficient in solving crime specific to their assignments.

Investigators assigned to these specific areas will be responsible for addressing certain suspects and their respective trends/habits, also known as "modus operandi."

Narcotic Investigation

Drug Investigations Unit is another part of the Criminal Investigations Division. This unit has experienced investigators that have the responsibility and expertise to investigate crimes involving the use, possession, and/or sale of controlled, illegal, or dangerous drugs. You can report any possible illegal drug activity that you may know of directly to the Winter Garden Police Department, and remain anonymous, if you desire to do so.

You must meet with an officer to initiate an initial report before your case can be reviewed for assignment to an investigator. Please call 407-656-3636.
