Citizens Police Academy

Ever wonder what goes on inside your police department? Get your questions answered at the next Citizens Police Academy class! 

This is a 9-week course meeting every Wednesday evening at the Winter Garden Police Department training room from 6 to 9 p.m. The classes are instructed by Winter Garden police officers and staff who will discuss such topics as: 

• Crime prevention
• Criminal investigations
• Defensive tactics
• Drug identification
• Special operations
• Uniformed patrol
• Many other interesting topics

Also available is a ride-along with a uniformed patrol officer.

Upcoming Citizens Police Academy Information

The next Citizens Police Academy will begin on August 28, 2019, at 6 p.m. at the Winter Garden Police Department training room. The graduation will take place on October 23, 2019. Anyone interested in participating in the next Citizens Police Academy class must complete an application and send it to:

This class is not an accredited certification course to become a sworn police officer.
