Jon C. Williams has been with the City of Winter Garden since early 2018, becoming its City Manager in 2021 after serving as Assistant City Manager of Public Services. As head of the Public Services Department, Williams oversaw garbage and recycling, utilities, engineering, streets, storm water and water conservation programs, capital improvements, and the city’s cemetery. Under his tenure, a number of capital improvements have been made including the construction of a new water storage and pumping facility, an expansion of a wastewater reclamation facility, road improvements throughout the city, as well as the planning of the reconstruction of Dillard Street that serves as the entry point to the city’s historic downtown.
Williams previously served twice as a city manager before coming to Winter Garden. He was the city manager of Longwood from 2011-2018 after being their finance director for three years. Prior to that, he was the city manager of Edgewater from 2006-2007 after serving as their finance director for nearly five years. He also possesses extensive experience in the public and private sector and is well versed in a variety of city government positions having worked in the past as a code compliance officer, a wastewater plant operator, and as a utility service worker. Williams is a graduate of the University of Central Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
