On July 11, 2023, Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings announced the launch of a new grant program for area small businesses - Orange County Small Business BOOST Grants. These grants are to help small businesses recover from the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through the Federal American Rescue Plan Act funding, a total of $26M has been allocated to support small businesses, home-based businesses, and – for the first time – gig workers. These are available to Orange County businesses including all of our municipalities. The grant application platform opened for these businesses and individuals to apply on Tuesday, July 18.
These grants are for eligible businesses and individuals who suffered losses due to the pandemic and are still in business. The funds will be distributed on a first come first served basis and the goal is to serve thousands of impacted businesses and individuals over the next several months. These grants do not have to be repaid.
