UPDATE (September 9, 2019):
The construction work on the 9th Street Gravity Sewer and Force Main Improvements Project will require a series of two road closures that will begin on Monday, September 16th. The first closure will be the entire 9th Street and Story Road intersection. This first closure of the intersection will begin at 9:30 AM on September 16th and is anticipated to remain closed until 7:00 PM on Friday, September 20th. The second closure will be a portion of 9th Street from Story Road to East Cypress Street. The westbound and eastbound lanes of Story Road will remain open during this second closure. The second closure will begin at 9:30 AM on September 23rd and is anticipated to remain closed until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 25th. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as the City replaces utility infrastructure along the 9th Street project corridor
A project upgrading water and sewer lines along 9th St. between Regal Pointe Blvd. and Plant St. is beginning Monday, June 24. Normal working hours will be 7 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
Starting on Monday, June 24, 2019, the 9th Street Gravity Sewer and Force Main Improvement Project will begin. The project working area along 9th Street will be between Regal Pointe Blvd. and Plant Street. This project consists of installing approximately 1984 ft of new water main, 4590 ft of force main, and 699 ft of gravity sewer main. Substantial completion is scheduled for February 20, 2020, with final completion on or before March 20, 2020. Normal working hours will be 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Although it’s not anticipated, some operations may need to occur at night when there is less traffic.
During the course of construction, traffic flow will be impacted, lane shifts and temporary road closures of side streets off of 9th Street will be necessary. Updated notices of traffic shifts will be available on the City’s website as well as on-site message boards. The work will be performed by the City’s contractor, Cathcart Construction Company.
