Register for Winter Garden classes and workshops by calling 321-203-2604 or through our online registration system at www.crealde.org. The online registration system will be available four weeks prior to session start date.

In order to receive the Winter Garden resident discount, first-time students should call the Crealdé main office, 407.671.1886, to verify their Winter Garden address. Returning students may register at www.crealde.org at any time.

Note: Self-motivated young adults (ages 14 to 17) are also welcome to enroll in adult Painting, Drawing and Ceramics classes.

Open to beginning students as an introduction to the fundamentals of art while sampling various drawing and painting techniques using different media, including watercolors, acrylics and oils. Most supplies are included.

This class covers basic principles of drawing and composition. Students will learn techniques of measuring angles and proportions to create accurate line drawings, techniques of shading to create light and volume, and principles of composition to create dynamic, engaging images.

Create bold, bright and beautiful contemporary floral paintings that will brighten up your life! For intermediate artists who want to loosen up and go wild with lots of paint and color. Through instruction and assignments, learn essential photography concepts such as exposure, composition and lighting. Understanding camera settings and how to adjust aperture and shutter speeds will allow students to gain creative control of their work.

Saturday 9 am-3 pm
Spend a full day photographing the birds of Lake Apopka with lifelong bird photography instructor Milton Heiberg. Meander the new Lake Apopka Wildlife Loop expanding over the north shores of Lake Apopka with over 10 miles of 360-degree vistas, including ponds, canal waterways and the shores of Lake Apopka itself. Ever since the north shore restoration, this area has become a birder’s paradise. We will have continuous photo-ops of many species, including wading birds, passerines, gallinules, raptors, and especially Osprey carrying or eating a fish. Lunch will be provided at the Lakeside Pavilion. Workshop includes a planning session 7-8 pm, January 12 and a review session 6-8 pm, January 19.

Register for one or more of Crealdé’s two-week ceramic samplers. Handcraft these one-of-a-kind clay pieces during the first class and come back the second week to glaze add the finishing touches byglazing your artwork. All materials and tools are provided. INSTRUCTOR BIOS

BEATRICE ATHANAS: A realistic painter of European landscapes, she was born in Germany and has traveled widely. Her work shows passion in the use of vibrant colors, brush-stroke techniques and the light that reflects her mood toward the subject. Member of Oil Painters of America.
SHERRI BUNYE: A fine art documentary photographer, she teaches film and digital photography classes and the Storytellers Teen Documentary projects at Crealdé. Previously awarded the United Arts Professional Development Grant, she continues to exhibit her work and has pieces in both public and private collections.
PATRICIA BYRON: A professional artist who has lived many years abroad, she attributes her passion for travel, diverse cultures and nature as her inspiration for the arts. She has been an art instructor at Crealdé for more than six years, and has exhibited in numerous galleries and in private collections.
NOREEN COUP: A French-American fine artist known for her bold, bright and beautiful paintings. She earned her BA from Woodbury University in Los Angeles in Interior Design.
PAULA DAVIS: Has been associated with Crealdé since 1980, teaching photography and ceramics for the Young Artist Program. In addition, she is an instructor for the popular Summer ArtCamp and a presenter for the Studio Field Trip Program.
PRAYONG DEEYING: Received his BFA at Fine Art University, Thailand and his Master's Degree in Painting from Northwestern State University, Louisiana. He taught art for 13 years and was employed for 20 years at Walt Disney World as a Senior Artist Prep.
BELINDA GLENNON: Joined the Crealdé faculty in 2002 where she teaches hand building and wheel throwing for adults and youth and is coordinator of the Young Artist Program. She holds a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Central Florida.
MILTON HEIBERG: A frequent lecturer on wildlife photography, special effects and general photography. Thousands of his images have been published worldwide. He is the author of seven books on photographic technique.
CAT HEMPEL: A Winter Garden resident with a bachelor's degree in drawing and printmaking from UCF and an Associate Member of the Oil Painters of America.
TRISH O'DONNELL: A Winter Garden resident with a BA in Studio Art and Art Education, Trish currently teaches art at Montverde Academy. She loves drawing, painting and photography, and sharing in the creative experience with children of all ages.
SHERYL ODZA: Sheryl is an art educator and artist. She holds an MA in Art Education from the University of Northern Colorado and a BFA in Advertising Design. Sheryl’s professional experience encompasses advertising design, printmaking and photography with art instruction for 20 years in elementary and college institutions in Colorado and Florida.
PETER SCHREYER: Executive Director at Crealdé; international exhibition record, numerous awards and public art commissions; including four documentary projects in the Winter Garden and Lake Apopka area in the past 15 years. Named Arts Educator of the Year in 2009 by United Arts.
MICHAEL VAN GELDER: An Orlando area commercial photographer who specializes in documenting musical and entertainment events. His work has appeared in such publications as Music Entertainment Magazine, All Access Music Magazine and Guitar Magazine.
