Recreation Programs

Please be sure to register early to avoid class cancellation due to low enrollment or program closure due to maximum enrollment being met. All programs are held at the Jessie Brock Community Center, 310 North Dillard Street, unless otherwise noted.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide
AARP is offering free tax help to low-to moderate-income taxpayers, especially those 60 and older at the Jessie Brock Community Center. No appointment necessary.

Date: Wednesdays, February 1 – April 12
Time: 9 am – 12 pm
Fee: Free!

Creative Movement
This unique program introduces basic dance steps and movement through dance, games and activities. Class focus is on creativity and self-expression while developing fine and gross motor skills. Advanced registration required.

Date: Saturdays, January 28 – March 18 and March 25 – May 20 (off Easter weekend)
Time: 10:30 – 11:15 am
Ages: 2 – 4 years
Fee: $70 City Resident / $75 Nonresident per eight-week session

CPR Certification Heart saver / AED Classes
Instruction provided by Rural/Metro Ambulance, in support of the communities served by the Winter Garden Fire Rescue Department. Register in advance by sending your name, address and phone number to or call 407-578-3636. Pre-registration is required.

Time: 9 am – 1 pm or 2 – 6 pm

Join Ed Thralls, Residential Horticulture and Master Gardener Coordinator for the Orange County Master Gardener Program, as he provides expertise in general education classes on urban horticulture. Advanced registration required by calling 407.254.9200.

Introduction to Acting
Students will be introduced to acting exercises, monologue work and scene study. No experience necessary.

Kid’s Café
Hang out with friends, play games and eat healthy! Kid’s Café is a unique, free dinner program designed for children of low-income families and is a joint program offered by the City of Winter Garden, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, and the Orange County Community Action Division.

Kids Night Out
Enjoy a night out on the town knowing your children are safe and in the care of quality trained staff. While attending the program, your child will engage in a multitude of activities as well as build strong friendships with other children from the community. Dinner will be provided. The program is open to children currently enrolled in Kindergarten – 5th grade. Pre-registration is required, program will cancel if minimum number of 10 children isn't met by the Wednesday prior.

Music with Mar
Learn while making music! This preschool class uses music to enhance the main areas of development: cognitive, social, motor and language. All classes are multi-age and family friendly with no sessions to commit to. Interact with puppets, pinch bubbles, parade with instruments, hear a story, use sign language, and move to the music.
