ELECTRICAL
Service upgrade or repair:
Work on existing services to upgrade or repair, require an electrical permit and inspection. Depending on the type of work being done a drawing might be required.
MECHANICAL
A/C change outs and new installations:
( A/C work may be permitted for up to $5000 before a Notice of Commencement is required)
A/C equipment changes require a permit and inspection.
New installations require a permit and inspections. Often times an electrical upgrade and permit is needed in conjunction with the A/C work. The A/C contractor must bring a power of attorney form from the electrician that will do the upgrade and both permits will be combined with the same permit number.
New installations must provide Florida energy code data.
FENCES
To obtain a permit for a fence we will need three (3) copies of the site/survey plan indicating where the fence is being placed. Fences may be made out of wood, PVC or chain link. Fences may only be put in front of the building line if they are 3 foot high-wood & PVC or 4 foot high-chain link. Fences may be a maximum of 6 foot high in the rear of the property. Fences must be 6” inches from the property line unless they have consent from neighbors.
Corner Lot Fence - On a corner lot in any residential district, nothing shall be erected, placed, planted or allowed to grow in such a manner as materially to impede vision between a height of 2 1/2 feet and ten feet above the centerline grades of the intersecting streets in the area bounded by the street lines of such corner lots and a line adjoining points along street lines 50 feet from the point of the intersection.
NEW SUBDIVISION WALLS, ENTRANCES AND FENCES MUST BE PERMITTED THROUGH THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT.
Prior approval from Planning and Zoning and the Engineering department must be obtained before submitting plans to building department for permitting. You must include the city stamped approved site plan when submitting for building permit.
1) Three (3) copies of the city stamped approved site plan indicating the location, height and type of construction.
2) Three (3) copies of engineering drawings (if applicable).
TREES
Three (3) copies of survey indicating where the tree(s) is to be removed. Trees must be tagged. Include pictures of the trees to be removed with application.
SHEDS
Three (3) copies of survey indicating where shed is being placed. Sheds must be 5 feet from property line if less than 160 square feet.
SOLAR PANELS
Three (3) copies of plans indicating size, and number of panels
GAS (PROPANE)
Three (3) surveys indicating placement of tank, size of tank, BTU 's, pipe type and pipe size.
