On January 30, 1996, between 3:30 and 4 a.m., several gunshots were heard by residents in the area of Center Street and Tenth Street. At approximately 7:20 a.m., police received an anonymous call advising of a subject lying on the ground behind 111 Center Street.
Upon their arrival, James Earle, also known as “Jimmy” was discovered deceased on the ground. Investigation revealed that James was the victim of a Homicide. Witnesses uncovered during the investigation advised that James was still alive around 3:30 a.m. that morning.
It was at that time James was seen walking up to the passenger side of a full sized burgundy or maroon van, with a long C. B. antenna on it. Moments later several gunshots were heard.
